Twenty Years of Inspired Living: A Night to Celebrate

Twenty years of Inspired Living felt like the perfect reason to gather the design community together. Our Hawthorn flagship became the setting for an evening of conversation, connection and celebration, as we marked two decades of Trit House with the people who have helped shape our story along the way.

Hosted in collaboration with Style Scout Events, the evening brought together designers, architects, creatives, industry friends and members of the Trit community for a conversation reflecting on where we’ve come from, how Australian design has evolved and what continues to inspire us.

A look back

The conversation explored Trit’s journey from its beginnings in 2006 to the business it is today, touching on the changing way Australians live, the evolution of design and the relationships that have been central to Trit’s growth.

While there was plenty of nostalgia, the evening was as much about looking forward as it was looking back. Twenty years has given us plenty of stories, but it has also given us a clear sense of what we want the next chapter to look like.

Twenty years, and still evolving

2026 has already been a significant year for Trit, with the opening of our new Bundall showroom bringing the Trit experience to the Gold Coast for the first time. The new space joins our existing showrooms across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, continuing our commitment to creating places where furniture can be experienced properly — through material, scale, texture and the way pieces come together.

It’s also been a year of new collections and creative collaborations, including FLARED, our collaboration with United Strangers and our A Place to Unwind campaign, which was so big we needed two drops to tell the story. Alongside our own collections, we continue to work with some of the world’s most considered design brands and collaborate with designers, architects and creatives across Australia.

It’s this constant mix of new ideas, considered design and the people we work with that keeps Trit evolving — and makes 20 years feel like just the beginning.

To the designers, architects, stylists, makers, media, trade clients, customers and friends who have supported Trit over the past 20 years — we’re incredibly grateful. Your projects, ideas, conversations and continued curiosity have played a huge part in shaping who we are today.

And to everyone who joined us in Hawthorn, thank you for coming together to celebrate this milestone with us. It was a fitting reminder that, while furniture may be what brings us together, it’s the people and relationships around design that make the journey so rewarding.

Here’s to the next chapter

Twenty years of Inspired Living is something we’re proud of, but we’re not ready to slow down.

With new spaces, new collections, new collaborations and plenty more on the horizon, there’s still so much to discover. We’re looking forward to continuing to curate, create and connect with the design community for many years to come.
