Here to make waves in the Australian interiors industry is United Strangers. A confidently eclectic collection that merges materials and like minds to create their truly unique pieces.
You will find classic elements in unexpected combinations and forms. Statement pieces in their own right, but with the ability to be mixed to furnish a space without looking tired or overly coordinated. This collection will create interiors that are anything but boring.
Effortless and well-travelled cool
United Strangers combines a contemporary sensibility with nods to vintage style. The richly textured palette of lived-in leathers, reclaimed timbers and textiles meet terrazzo, chrome, and coloured acrylic. Mixing these pieces creates a laid-back and perfectly mismatched aesthetic that is often only comes about through years of sourcing and collecting. Items from the collection are only enhanced with age and wear as they tell the stories of the guests and occupants that have enjoyed them from one dinner party to the next.
Design Background
Begining as a design company in 2009 by New Zealand Born Logan Komorowski, United Strangers evolved into a brand in 2013. Guided by the ethos to honour the connection to pure forms, shapes and sustainable materials, Komorowski sees United Strangers—or ‘US’ as it is affectionately referred to—as a place where collaboration further enhances the end result.
Our lived experience provides us with a unique way to look at spaces and objects. The pieces we chose to bring into our homes reflect our personal tastes and the journey we have been through to acquire our unique point-of-view.
US places upmost importance on creating modern, distinct and timeless designs, collaborating helps to appeal to a wide audience, while being bold and different makes the pieces unique and a talking point. The products finished state is not when it leaves their production facilities but rather when it reaches your home and even further when it is eventually passed down to family or friends.
Environmental Practices
Emphasising sustainability and social responsibility, United Strangers globally source from as far afield as North America, Brazil, Argentina, and New Zealand. Never adhering to trends, their range of products are just as relevant in their 2022 catalogue as they were in 2016 while continually adding to and expanding their offering.
From a teenager Komorowski was always intrigued with design and sustainability, creating furniture from reclaimed native New Zealand timber. This importance to on reusing found objects is heavily ingrained in the collection today.
Must know pieces
From sofas and tables to rugs and flags, the US collection is more than furniture, it is inspired by life. A storied collection that reflects cosmopolitan, urban chic with a worldly artisanal perspective. Holiday in your own home with United Strangers
