In a time where you can be overwhelmed by choice and the constant need to keep up-to-date with what’s trending, true quality and craftsmanship will always shine through. Renowned Danish upholstery brand Wendelbo is the answer, in their original designs, each piece tells a story of its maker, creating something you will connect with and love for a lifetime.
The company’s three pillars; style which encapsulates modern elegance; craftsmanship through their Danish roots and meticulous detail; and design by partnering with pioneering voices in the market to create original pieces, underpin all that Wendelbo does. This approach is what makes Wendelbo pieces investments, cutting through the noise of fast furniture to deliver something truly unique. Today we are pleased to delve deeper into the 2024 novelties Wendelbo has presented at 3daysofdesign from their new Copenhagen showroom. These pieces exemplify the quality and craftsmanship that only three generations of upholstery experience can bring.
Wendelbo’s History
Starting as a small family workshop specialising in upholstery, the foundation stones of Wendelbo were laid in 1955. Six decades and three generations later, the story continues to unfold and prosper. Their deep Scandinavian roots place utmost importance on craftsmanship and detail of each piece. Their control of the product from start to finish allows for customisation so you too can get involved in the design process, interweaving your home with nearly 70 years of history and craftsmanship.
Working with leading design voices highlights the importance Wendelbo places on the story of every design it brings to life. Each of the talented designers Wendelbo works with brings a unique perspective on design principles and modern living. These stories interwoven in the piece create an extra layer of meaning in your home.

At 3daysofdesign, under the event’s theme of ‘Dare To Dream’ Wenelbo presented their second set of novelties for the year at their new Copenhagen Showroom. Located across the street from the Danish Design Museum, the new showroom invites you to explore Wendelbo’s world of materiality and tactility.
“Those who dare to dream are bound to seek out innovative solutions that challenge the status quo, exploring uncharted territories to uncover possibilities that were once deemed unattainable.”
Botteto Sofa by Lars Wendelbo
Drawing inspiration from the Japanese philosophy of ‘Boketto,’ a practice rooted in the art of non-doing and peaceful reflection. This future icon, is defined by gently rounded rectangles, offering a soothing, cohesive look.
Imagined by Lars Wendelbo, this versatile collection spans 19 modular units, enabling dynamic configurations suited to contemporary Australian homes. Two diagonal modules add intrigue to layouts, while modules with trays – available in black or dark brown stained oak veneer, topped with a Pietra Grey marble plate – blend functionality with elegance. Integrated USB plugs further enhance convenience, ensuring effortless device charging or ambient lighting.
Duvet Lounge Chair
Duvet Lounge Chair by Skogstad & Wærnes
In their first piece for Wendelbo, Norwegian designer duo Skogstad & Wærnes present the Duvet Lounge Chair. In 2020, Petter Skogstad and Fredrik Wærnes who met studying product design at Oslo Metropolitan University partnered to establish their own studio after gaining much experience at studios such as Anderssen & Voll, Andreas Engesvikand, and Snøhetta.
Duvet Lounge Chair
Supported by a solid tubular steel frame, the Duvet boasts a single tailored upholstery piece, draped over its form like a cozy coat, complete with pinch seam stitching that outlines its distinctive shape. Cleverly tucked fabric creates intentional folds, adding to the visual allure and the inviting, duvet-like softness of the seat.
Wedge Tables by Note Design Studio
The Wedge Side Table, is the latest design conceived by the innovative minds at Note Design Studio. The form exemplifies a fusion of minimalist charm and playful ingenuity. With a shape that resembles an elevated cake wedge, the design’s focus is on the dynamic, sculptural base that offers stability and a striking visual element in any space.
Available in two sizes, the table can either command the spotlight as a standalone piece or synergise in a pairing, adapting seamlessly to an array of interior styles. We think it pairs perfectly with Note Design Studio’s swivel Ovata Lounge Chair.
Panorama Dine Table by Jonas Wagell
Earlier in the year Wendelbo introduced a new iteration of their most popular modular sofa in The Panorama Dine. A banquette-style seating arrangement perfect for a breakfast nook, breakout space in an office or comfortable setting for restaurants. Now available with a complimenting table in a variety of finishes.
The Panorama Dine Tables feature a sturdy column and base in black powder-coated steel. The tabletops, framed with black stained oak veneer, reflect the organic design principles of the Panorama Dine concept, creating a harmonious look when paired together. Available in two finishes – silk matte iron-coloured linoleum or black stained oak veneer – the tabletops add versatility to suit various preferences and commercial projects.
Sinum Chair by Hoffmann Kahleyss Design
Deriving from the Latin word for ‘pocket’, the Sinum Chair aptly takes up little space in a room – be it the conference room, the hotel room, or the dining room. The seat is characterised by a curved pocket of padding, ensuring uncompromising comfort, enclosed by either low or high armrests sloping upwards to the slightly tilted backrest that equally supports an upright and more laid-back seating position.
The Sinum Chair is defined by an airy aesthetic and a generously upholstered shell. Sinum is now available with a swivel base with optional return function to complement the existing classic four-leg tube base, both in black powder-coated steel. The return function is a technology Wendelbo has perfected on their lounge and dining chairs. Once vacated, the swivel will return to a neutral position meaning your room will always look its best.
