2025 Recap

by Sarah V
18/12/2025

For us, 2025 felt shaped by growth and connection, projects thoughtfully executed, collaborations built on shared values, and moments that reminded us why we do what we do. From long-awaited collections finally coming to life, to landmark store openings and projects we were proud to be part of, the year unfolded with a clear sense of momentum.

This is a look back at the pieces, people and partnerships that defined the year at Trit House — a snapshot of design moments worth pausing for.

A Landmark Moment for Wendelbo

In September we marked a milestone: Trit House opened Wendelbo’s first mono-brand flagship in Australia on Church Street, in Richmond. The store is an exercise in considered restraint. A single-brand space that allows calm Danish silhouettes to breathe. For us, the opening was about more than a ribbon: it’s a new place to discover craft, a destination in Melbourne’s premier design strip, and a sign of meaningful collaboration between Trit House and an international house choosing to plant deep roots here.

Collection Highlights — Celebrating Design Icons
Tiramisu Volume II

Tiramisu Volume II

Sixteen months in the making, Bec Judd’s Tiramisu Volume II was a highlight of the year. Now on display at Trit House Hawthorn, the pieces pair warm, tactile finishes with calm proportions — the kind of work that sits comfortably in both newly furnished and layered homes. The collection will roll out to our interstate stores in the coming weeks.

Melt Mini Pendant Lamp
Melt Portable Lamp, Melt Cone Slim Floor Lamp

Ten Years of Melt

Tom Dixon’s Melt series turned ten in 2025 — a decade of sculptural lighting whose molten-like forms have become instantly recognisable. Popular with designers, editors and collectors alike, Melt lights feel at home in intimate domestic corners and high-profile hospitality projects.

Ridge 3 Seater Sofa

The Ridge Sofa

In their first collaboration with Wendelbo, Norm Architects created Ridge — a sofa that stood out this year and was nominated for Furniture of the Year 2025. It’s a reminder that restraint, proportion and excellent making still get noticed. On display in our dedicated Wendelbo showroom, Ridge can be customised to suit any interior.

Reasons to Gather

We believe retail should be for people. We think any day is a good day to visit Trit House but amongst our VIP weekends and trade showings, there were a couple of stand out moments:

Trit House’s 19th Birthday Weekend

Gelato carts, gifts and a vibrant store atmosphere and, in true celebratory fashion. With 19 years of creating inspiring spaces we celebrated by giving away a Garret chair, one of the most popular pieces of 2025. The perfect birthday gift from us to one lucky winner. With 20 years on the horizon for 2026 expect even more exciting news.

An Afternoon with Artist Tegan Lloyd

For Mother’s Day we hosted long time collaborator Tegan Lloyd at our Hawthorn store. Guests enjoyed a painting demonstration and lesson, taking home their own canvas. An afternoon of conversation, creativity and community.

Islet V1 L Shape Sofa, Eden Timber Coffee Table

Tolv – Take Time For Living

Wooden Stories brought Sketch and Tolv, two iconic brands together under the Tolv name, a consolidation that keeps maker, craft and quality front and centre. The pieces retain the same quiet sophistication and everyday usability.

Baya Opens in Richmond

Friends at Baya opened a flagship in Richmond this year, expanding their presence and offering new, textural options for interiors. We’re excited to have them so close to our Wendelbo showroom on Church Street — it’s a lovely cluster of makers in Melbourne’s premiere design district.

Partnerships & Collaborations

This year we leaned into collaborations that feel like natural fits, going for quality over quantity with brands and people we wanted to celebrate with our audience:

Koko Black

A little chocolate Easter Treat. Both on social media and instore we celebrated the season of renewal with the most luxurious chocolate.

Bed Threads

Throughout the year we partnered with Bed Threads on their campaign shoots and activations at Australia’s Affordable Art Fair which we cumulated last month in a joint giveaway to celebrate their limited-edition artist collaboration with Brigitte Grant

Henne Office

Our collaboration with fashion heavyweight Nadia Bartel for their Henne office explored how considered design can shape the way we work. The space balances warmth and restraint, layering natural materials with sculptural forms to create an environment that feels both functional and elevated. A workplace full of United Strangers pieces, designed to support focus, creativity and everyday rhythm.

Komorebi Home

With Emily Yates at Komorebi Home, the focus shifted to domestic life. The project reflects a calm, lived-in approach to interiors, where thoughtful eco-friendly furniture choices and subtle textures come together to create spaces that feel grounding and personal, a home designed to be lived in slowly.

Seafarers Residence — 1 Hotel & Homes

Crafted in collaboration with Riverlee, this styled residence at Seafarers celebrates the connection between architecture, nature, and meaningful design. Part of 1 Hotel & Homes Residences, the apartment showcases thoughtful, sustainable living. Each piece was carefully selected by Trit House to complement the warmth and texture of the interiors, creating a space that feels calm, intentional, and beautifully grounded.

Ethnicraft Teak Bok Dining Chair

An Art Deco Family Apartment — the home of Tash Sefton & Adam Genovese, where Ethnicraft’s Bok dining chairs help create a Parisian, lived-in elegance: bright walls, herringbone floors and an easy weekend coffee routine at Genovese. See more on The Design Files.

Looking Ahead

As we close the year, we’re already looking forward. 2026 will bring something new, a Trit House store in a new city (any guesses?), alongside fresh collaborations and an expanding network of designers and makers we’re proud to represent. It also marks a milestone very close to our hearts: 20 years of Trit House. To celebrate, we’ll launch a new collection that reflects the way we think about inspired living — considered, collected and made to last.

Thank you for visiting our stores, supporting our partners, and making space for thoughtful design in your everyday life. We can’t wait to share what’s next.
