Welcome To The Stage, Wendelbo
Emerging in 1955 from Denmark, Wendelbo tells the story of a Danish family that over six decades and three generations have established a brand of effortlessly crafting pieces that are timeless and luxurious.
Hand-Crafted Elegance
Driven by the desire to create and produce one of a kind custom sofas, Tage Peterson established his brand in the 50’s with the same intention and traditional craftsmanship that were much alike to the couture fashion houses such as Dior or Givenchy at the time. Proudly incorporating this crafted precision into the newly founded brand’s work, Peterson created pieces out of his Aarhus workshop that were being made and personally curated for the sensibility and purpose of the European clientele.
A New Era of Design
While their ethos has remained, Wendelbo’s story is one of transformation – how a small furniture workshop turned into an international furniture and design company.
Although strongly established as a business, alongside a number of major companies and brands the 1980’s brought on a time of re-invention. Wendelbo was passed down to the next generation of designers – Christina and Lars Wendelbo who are responsible in growing and blossoming the brand to what we know today as the chic industry competitor for furniture on a much more global scale. Introducing a shift of the brands style, to a contemporary yet tailored influence and ensuring their ethos of craftsmanship remained principal.
Continuing their evolution, Wendelbo moved its production to Vietnam in 2007 where their manufacturing facilities would be built and run under their danish influence and their quality and craftsmanship would continue.
