At East Brunswick Village (EBV), that idea came to life as part of The Design Files Apartment Project — a two-day residency celebrating apartment living, local design, and the evolving rhythm of home.

Bringing together some of Melbourne’s leading design voices, the display suite was transformed into a layered, liveable interior. The display apartment deeply reflects how we actually inhabit our spaces. Thoughtful, expressive, and deeply personal. Within this home setting, Trit House pieces found their place.

Living With Intention

Set against warm timber joinery and a palette of natural materials, the Citizen Coffee Table by United Strangers anchors the living space with a quiet confidence.

Its low, grounded form invites a slower pace, somewhere to gather, rest a book, or let the day unfold. Paired with the Lineage Side Table, the composition becomes both functional and sculptural. Subtle contrasts in materiality and proportion create a sense of balance, without ever demanding attention.

A Dialogue Of Materials

What makes this space resonate is not a single hero piece, but the conversation between them.Soft upholstery meets structured timber. Handmade objects sit alongside refined silhouettes. Open shelving allows room for personality, books, vessels, and collected pieces that tell a story over time.

As part of the installation, The Design Files looked to the evolving language of United Strangers. Known for expressive forms, rich textures and unexpected material pairings, the brand brings a distinct point of view to the space.

Their collections are designed to be mixed and layered, creating a curated, collected look that feels personal and lived in. It is an approach shaped by contrast, tactility and a strong sense of material depth, with pieces that sit comfortably in the home and continue to evolve over time.
