In the fast-paced world of design, innovation often springs from unexpected sources. Bec Judd, known for her impeccable style, was an obvious choice for a collaboration with us at Trit House. We caught up with Bec to explore the essence of the collection.

Trit: The most pressing question, I think everyone is dying to know is what your favourite piece from the collection is? What makes it special to you?

Bec Judd: I love the coffee tables, particularly the stacked legs constructed of hexagonal tiramisu marble with brass accents. The legs were designed to resemble an arm stacked with gorgeous bangles so there is definitely a jewellery inspired take on these pieces.

T: How did your personal taste and lifestyle influence the design choices you made for this collection?

BJ: I am obsessed with graphic stone, particularly in warm tones with unique patterns. The tiramisu marble jumped out at me and I knew I had to do a collection with this material and really play on the total palette by mixing a range of complementary, colourful stones in the pieces.

I also love blending finishes and materials so pairing the brass with the tiramisu marble really played to my design aesthetic.

T: What sort of role do you think design plays in people’s everyday lives?

BJ: It’s really simple for me- great aesthetic design which plays a functional role, makes me happy!

T: Who are your style influences when it comes to interiors and fashion? What are your thoughts on how the two crossover?

BJ: Fashion is forever influencing my interior design aesthetic and you can see this in the coffee table legs which were inspired by an arm stacked with bangles. Colours, tones and materials, which are trending in fashion, always look great when applied to interior design in a paired back, functional way.

I am inspired by interior designers and architects I follow on Instagram and I am also very partial to a Pinterest mood board!

T: And finally, what feeling do you hope people experience when they see, use, or own a piece from your collection with Trit?

BJ: I want people to walk into the room, see their Bec Judd x Trit piece and smile. There is nothing better than an absolutely stunning piece of furniture in the home, which also plays an important part in the everyday lives of families.
