A Day in the Life at Trit House Hawthorn
Wednesday is always a whirlwind. The busiest day of the week at our Hawthorn flagship, it begins the same way every time – with coffee. A quick stop at Elixir Coffee Roasters, our favourite local spot, the scent of freshly ground beans mingling with the crisp morning air, before the real work begins.

The first job? Unpacking the new arrivals. Every Wednesday is transfer day, fresh from our Dandenong warehouse, and the latest pieces roll in like clockwork. Even though we’ve seen them in images, nothing beats that first in-person encounter. The grain of the wood, the weight of the stone, the curves and lines.
Customers filter in throughout the day, drawn to the energy of a midweek reset. There’s a rhythm to it all – questions about fabric swatches, styling advice, stories exchanged about homes and renovations. Between deliveries, stock checks and styling adjustments, the team moves seamlessly, fuelled by a mix of caffeine and the quiet thrill of seeing each piece find its place.

Labels are written up, tags attached, and placements carefully considered. Meanwhile, showroom transfers keep things moving – pieces being swapped between locations to make way for the new. It’s a puzzle, shifting furniture with precision, making sure each space feels effortless yet intentional.
The precision and efficiency of our warehouse team keep everything running smoothly, from coordinating deliveries to handling showroom transfers. It’s a constant movement of stock, with an eye for detail that ensures each item arrives in perfect condition, ready to be unwrapped and admired.

By the time the doors close, the space feels different – refreshed, reimagined, ready for the tail end of the week. And as we step out into the evening, talk shifts to what’s happening this weekend. The cycle continues, but that first glimpse of something new? That never gets old.
