A Night Celebrating Danish Design: Wendelbo Australia Launches
Wendelbo Australia, in partnership with Trit House, has officially opened its doors on Church Street with the launch of the first mono-brand Wendelbo showroom in Melbourne. Located in the heart of Richmond’s design precinct, the new showroom offers an immersive experience into the Danish brand’s world of contemporary furniture and design.

Last week’s launch evening brought together clients, friends, and design lovers for a night that was equal parts celebration and reflection. It marked not only the unveiling of a new space but also a continuation of Wendelbo’s 70-year journey — from a family-built furniture maker in Aarhus, Denmark, to a globally recognised name in contemporary living.

Inside the showroom, guests were immediately drawn to key pieces from the latest collection. The sculptural lines and bold colours of the Atli Lounge Chair and the inviting form of the Ridge Sofa became natural gathering points. The Vector Table, paired seamlessly with the Sinum Chairs, provided the perfect setting for long-awaited conversations, embodying Wendelbo’s belief that design should inspire connection and elevate everyday life.

Beyond furniture, the showroom features the creative expressions of long-term Trit collaborators Nunzio Miano and Tegan Lloyd, joined by new arrival Adele Naidoo. Their works add an intimate and artistic layer to the environment, blurring the line between art and design in a way that feels distinctly Melbourne.

One of the highlights of the evening was an insightful Q&A between Trit House Director, Ivan Yoong, alongside Wendelbo’s Asia Pacific Sales Director, Sarah Deutrom. Together, they reflected on the partnership between Trit House and Wendelbo, the evolution of the brand in Australia, and the significance of opening a dedicated showroom on Church Street. Their conversation offered a glimpse into the values of heritage, craftsmanship, and innovation that continue to guide Wendelbo’s direction and the similarities between the two companies.

The atmosphere throughout the night was warm and vibrant. Guests were treated to Danish-inspired bespoke canapés from Undressed Table Scapes, beautifully styled to complement the evening’s design focus. Drinks flowed, with The Budgie providing their signature bottled Negronis — a true celebration of effortless entertaining. The night was elevated by the sound of Stephanie Vido on cello, her music weaving a graceful backdrop to the lively conversations filling the space.

As the evening drew to a close, guests left with thoughtfully curated gift bags as a token of appreciation. Inside were indulgent touches from Hugos Chocolates, Saya Skin, Organic Merchant and a limited edition mini Calibre Side Table, each adding a small yet memorable note to the celebration.
The turnout was a testament to the strong community of design enthusiasts in Melbourne, all coming together to celebrate a new chapter for Wendelbo Australia. The Church Street showroom now stands as an open invitation to experience the brand’s timeless yet forward-thinking approach to design.

We welcome you to visit the showroom, explore the collection in person, and discover why Wendelbo continues to resonate across generations and cultures.
